Rainfall-Runoff

Rainfall and runoff are recorded continuously from all five monitored catchments. Rainfall is measured using a tipping bucket rain gauge and runoff is measured using a 1.2 m HL flume. Water heights through the flume are recorded using a pressure transducer with a mechanical float recorder backup.

Discrete water quality samples are taken using an auto-sampler located at the flume, and they are typically analysed for total suspended solids and both total and dissolved fractions of nitrogen, phosphorus, and carbon.
